our week...

Our week was spent cleaning floors....

...cleaning the floors some more....

...hanging out with gal pals at a train party...

...consuming way too much sugar....

...reading books...

...taking the scenic route...

...dying eggs....

 ...hugging squishy bunnies....

...composing music at age almost-two....

...and getting all dressed up in our Easter best!

How was yours?

those kiddos....

Innocent-looking enough...until you ask them to be silly, and then it's all downhill from there!

obi wan kenobi

Dylan and Cassy came over to play today and the kids practiced their Star Wars vocab together. (Since Cassy hasn't seen but one of the movies, we're doing our best to brainwash encourage Dylan to like it!)

They had a little trouble with Obi Wan Kenobi's name as you'll see. ;)

Then they ran around and wore themselves out.

Good day.

Valentine's Day playdate

The girls and I (haha) hosted a Valentine's Day playdate for their little friends last week, and it was a blast! See my craft blog for more info...but here are some fun shots of the cute kiddos and the exchanging of the Valentines!

Sadie loves seeing her friend Payton!

Cousin Coraline was there too! (and soon-to-be cousin as well... :)

Goodies were nibbled on...pretty much constantly.

Sadie got a bit pouty at one point. Kid, you're getting sugar...what's the problem here?

Charlotte nearly fell asleep in her high chair gripping her lollipop. She was not letting go of that!

movie night

Our friends the Watsons just bought their first house (yay!) so while the dads were working on the kitchen floor the other night, Cassy brought the kids over for some playtime which then turned into dinner time, then movie time. Oh, and did I mention their new place is right down the street from us? Cause it is, and that. is. awesome!

New Years Eve?

We had big New Years Eve plans....well our normal plans with the Watsons (we've been doing New Years with them for about 6 or 7 years)...which for us is BIG. They come over and put their kiddos down at our house, then we eat and play games all night.

Sadly, it was ruined this year by a stomach flu we (the Christian) all caught the week after Christmas. We prevailed and stuck it to the man by having New Years Eve 2 weeks late. It was still a blast, even though we only made it to 11. (lame I know, what can I say? we're all getting old and decrepit)

The boys had fun just "hanging out".

Charlotte stuck close to her favorite buddy, Cassy. It's so cute, she always likes to be held by Cassy and play with her!

Those darn cute girls!

Annnd....little photo hog, Sadie.

Party time!

So the week before Halloween was Sadie's best friend Rayne's birthday party! It was a Fancy Nancy party, and both Sadie and Charlotte had a blast! There were fancy things to dress up in, fancy bags, and fancy cupcakes.

There was also a stage, which Charlotte seemed to enjoy performing on. She does a little stomping dance that is adorable.

It wasn't long before there was a whole dance crew on stage! lol, kids are so funny!

Pool playdate

You know, for a long-time blogger.... I forget my camera when we go out 9 times out of 10. BAD mommy. Thanks, Kim, for these pictures from playdate last week! It topped 100 degrees for about a week, so some pool time was in dire need. The water felt great, and the kids had a blast floating around in various flotation devices.

Sadie (sitting in the pink floaty) was happy to float around the pool and play with pool toys...

...Charlotte on the other hand, (lil Miss Independent) wanted nothing more than to cover the entire perimeter of the pool....about a dozen times.

Thank goodness for awesome momma friends who were willing to play with and watch Sadie while I followed Miss Walker around. (can you tell I like calling her "Miss" nicknames? I do.)

park day

Sadie and Dylan are too cute together today at the park. She was totally macking on him, kissing him on the cheek multiple times! (not that he was complaining, hehe!)

The other two kids (Charlotte and Rayne) were having so much fun swinging and being swung! I love that these kids have special little bonds already!

Charlotte loves the swings, usually she's screaming her head off in delight.

Sadie even surprised me by climbing up and down this play ground tower all by herself! She is usually pretty timid about that sort of thing but she did great!

Then she promptly offered her help to a much more able Rayne. :-)

two rapunzels!

My good friend Kim wanted to make a Rapunzel dress for her daughter Payton like the one I made awhile back, so she borrowed the dress to copy it, and I tried to help her make a pattern...but really she sewed this all on her own! Way to go Kim! (it was, I believe, her first dress!)

 Sadie and Payton look so cute, like little Rapunzel twins! I wish they still lived close by. Oh well. :}

just feel that summer breeze...

More like AC unit breeze. I babysat my good friend Aimee's kids yesterday while she worked and the kiddos had a blast together! Sadie and Gage are about 5 months apart and are cute little play buddies. They loved standing in front of our new AC  unit in the playroom!

I love Gage's face in this one! LOL.

Charlotte and Ben were content to sit on the couch....for about 1.2 minutes.

Then off to see something else! Ah, the life of a crawler! Gotta get into everything.

Gage really liked playing with this Darth Vader hat we have. He even sang the Vader march. Good work, Glen and Aimee. We're so proud.

Another funny moment that I didn't get a picture of was when Gage found our play frying pan and started swinging it around and saying,"I gotta get me one of these!" Just like Flynn Rider in Tangled. Sadie's doing it now too, and insisted on sleeping with her frying pan also. funny kids!
