Sadie has a new bed!

I got home Saturday from a bridal shower, and across the street I see this awesome trundle bed for sale, by our neighbors. We were planning on using one with the girls when we have another kid, since they'd share a room then and Sadie's room is the smallest in the house. So I run in and grab Rory, we check it out, and buy it for $75! The lady said they bought it for $700, sooo pretty good deal for us. It's in great shape, too. We of course bought a new mattress, and now Sadie is living the high life.

Literally. It's pretty tall.

bowl on face

So. Charlotte reeeeally likes her ice cream.

So much that she was determined to get at every last drop, no matter what it took.

No matter how sticky she got.

Granted, it was the best ice cream-scuse me-gelato...that'd she'd (and I've) probably ever had. Caramel gelato-made from scratch by Uncle Ryan and Aunt Megan.

We had a fab dinner (Brown Sugar Spice Pork, Red skinned mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli and carrots, and buttermilk biscuits) and they topped it off with their homemade caramel and raspberry gelato-and chocolate "salami" cookies studded with cashews or macadamia nuts, I don't remember. Yeah, we feasted. YUM. Then the girls went a little crazy burning off some of the sugar. Fun evening with family. What's better?

piggy tails and glares

I put Charlotte's hair (namely, the sides of her hair) into pig tails the other day and quickly freaked out over how cute they were. Even Sadie joined in to the exclamations of cuteness. So, we know C rocks the pig tails now.

She also rocks the "mom, please. I'm far too busy to put up with your camera nonsense today" look.

little people

My mom collects and sells vintage Little People, so we went over yesterday and raided her massive collection. The girls thoroughly enjoyed playing with them all afternoon and evening! Well, they  played with them after Sadie took off Charlotte's shoes for her.

We even got to see and compare our play fire truck to a real one when we saw a truck on our street. Sadie about flipped out with that...."THEY'RE THE SAME MOMMY!"

Charlotte enjoyed the skateboard, as did the fancy lady. She did a couple of kick flips later.

Charlotte also wanted to give you all a big wet one!
and a cute smile.

busted.

I should have known that something was up, when I asked Sadie what she was doing hiding behind the sofa, and she replied,"coloring!" but in her I'm-doing-something-I shouldn't-be voice.  At least she didn't take the pen to the couch. (although there is green crayon all over the back.)

Luckily soap and a Mr. Clean eraser took it off in a jiffy. Locking up my pens now...
