wow. i don't even know where to start. We just got back Monday night from a whirlwind trip back to Utah for almost a week. (two days spent driving) We traveled in my parents RV with most of my siblings. There were 11 people going out, and 12 people coming back. (my brother flew out later because of work) The kids were REALLY good for the drive(s)! We were all kind of shocked. Of course, that might be the unlimited movies and sugar we pumped into Sadie. hmm....Charlotte was just a little champ...sleeping and eating and smiling at everyone.
I was horrible at taking pictures because I took my little point and shoot....and that doesn't take very good pics, so I didn't even try hardly! I'm hoping *HINT HINT* that people will send me pics that they took. (yay my hint worked!)
We enjoyed seeing the mountains again, and all our old haunts. (we lived in Orem for 3 years while we went to college) including Cafe Rio!!!!!! I ate my entire salad. (they're enormous) No joke. I felt like I would need a crane to get my gluttonous behind out of there, but it was worth it. And just as good as I remember!
Rory was kind enough to let me go on a shopping spree-I hit up the Down East Outlet store, DI and Savers (thrift stores), and the SUPER JOANN's. Angels started singing when I walked in. ok, lol...maybe I'm being a bit dramatic. But it was Awesome! I got some deals on fabric and a few patterns for a current obsession...(expect a post AND tutorial about that soon...oooh, mysterious!)
We enjoyed spending time with my mom's sister, brother, and their families, watching you tube videos and having an indoor BBQ after getting rained out. (in August?)
We had somewhat of a mini Lance reunion Friday night-and spent the night regaling each other with life stories.
Joanna and I told our movie-car incident story...that STILL makes me crack up! it was wonderful soaking up all the family time! I got to talk to two of my favorite crafty ladies-Courtenay and Jenni...we talked shop and it was soo fun!
A raise of hands for who had a "J" name-middle names included. There were soo many. J names are popular in my family-all my siblings have them (8 kids=my parents too), and another family has 8 kids and they're all J's too! Plus some spouses...yikes.
Sadie was having the ultimate time (ignore the look on her face here), playing with the two little girls around her age-Amelia and Leah. They were too cute!

Saturday night was their open house in Cody's hometown-this is the only picture I have of that-thanks to my cousin Jenni! (click on it for a Where's Waldo) It was so fun- a lot of our extended family who live in Utah came out for that. From both sides-we actually saw all of my mom's siblings (and families) on the trip! They had a gelato (a?) cart-yum, and cookies. yum. Besides Charlotte being a royal pain in the booty, it was a very nice evening! Poor thing didn't want to eat. sigh...
my Dad's cousin Kathryn chatted to me for a bit about my blog-she said she felt like she was meeting a celebrity! hehe. that made me giggle! and grin for the rest of the day.
Sunday we went to Everett's blessing, ate copious amounts of salsa and chips afterward, and then headed to Temple Square for the afternoon. Here's Charlotte and Courtenay's baby boy Everett...they're only two weeks apart! Courtenay made those little suspenders-they're attached to his shirt. and the bow tie. She's marvelous! Wish we lived closer so we could thrift and sew together.
The boys and babies, and Sadie oh so discreetly covering her face with a plate. I cant believe my little brother is going to be a dad come next February!
So, on to Temple Square...It started out HOT, and by the end of the afternoon it was pouring rain and the wind almost blew us over. Good thing I was holding Sadie....it probably would've knocked her over!
Joanna and Cody (the newlyweds!) met us there, as well as our cousins the Hoslers from Arizona, who came up for the wedding, and to drop off my cousin at BYU. It was a nice relaxing afternoon, besides dodging golf ball sized raindrops and huge gusts of wind.
on the trip home Janae wanted to stop at the Salt Flats- so they did. I didn't go out, and Rory took this picture. Sorry guys, that's what you get when you willingly smile at our camera...in your PJ's. you go on the BLOG. muwahahaha.
