our week...

Our week was spent cleaning floors....

...cleaning the floors some more....

...hanging out with gal pals at a train party...

...consuming way too much sugar....

...reading books...

...taking the scenic route...

...dying eggs....

 ...hugging squishy bunnies....

...composing music at age almost-two....

...and getting all dressed up in our Easter best!

How was yours?

went to the park with cousins-check.

Rory's sister Mandy, and her family were in town this weekend, so along with a BYU basketball game, family lunches, and dinners...we were able to sneak in a trip to the park. It was a bit chilly but kind of refreshing also!

Charlotte had her Uncle Mark wrapped around her pinky before long!

Of course Rory is permanently wrapped around her finger. ;)

How could you possibly not be, when you're up against a face like that?

Katy is growing up so fast! Stop it Katy! :D

Ethan is the same-crazy, fun, and energetic!

Love Logan's face in this one! lol.

We had some balls and frisbees with us, so of course started throwing them around.

So out came my big zoom lens-had fun with that! (wish I'd brought out my tripod though)

Charlotte at one point walked out into the middle of the throwing zone with no fear. That girl! (thanks to my cousin Jenni for the girls adorable hats! I'm shocked they left them on...but it was pretty chilly.)

We had a blast playing outside with some of our favorite people! Sadie really enjoyed playing with her cousins and getting to know them. We'll be stopping by their house on our way to Utah in April so it will be fun to see them again so soon!

Merry Christmas!

We had a pretty good Christmas this year-besides the cold and flu bug we all suffered during and after the festivities. I really could have done without that, but we managed to still have fun! The girls loved opening their stocking presents (though the picture suggests otherwise, lol)

Rory wrapped my presents particularly well this year-can you guess what this is?

Charlotte got her baby doll, she has been loving on it ever since!

Sadie got what she'd been asking for for weeks-a Tiana barbie! (plus all the Princes!)

Sadie had so much fun with all her new toys! (and ahem...Charlotte's as well)

Charlotte seemed to love these glasses the most...and her binky. We spent it with my family, and it was low key and relaxed. Love those kind!

Christmas time at Disneyland

My, oh my. We had a magical time at Disneyland last week! We left on Tuesday morning and made it there by about 2. The kids did great on the drive, Janae included. ;) We checked into our hotel, and all hades broke loose. In the first 15 minutes:

Sadie number 2'd in her pants

Charlotte broke a coffee pot...

and splashed her hand around in the toilet water.

Don't ask me how that all went down. It was kind of a blur, since it all happened within 2 minutes. Anyways, we cleaned up, persevered, and headed into the park! We headed straight for Fantasyland and went on some of Sadie's favorite rides, the teacups, and the Dumbo ride. (we would revisit these rides every. day. of. the. trip.) After that we decided to camp out for a spot along the Christmas parade route-we heard it was good. And it was! Probably the best parade I've seen! They had so many characters that you don't see often-like the Princes! Janae and I were so excited to see the Princes alongside their Princesses...and so was Sadie. She loved seeing the Beast. They also had the Stepmother and sisters from Cinderella...they were a hoot!

After the parade and fireworks (also awesome!)...it snowed! Disneyland-engineered snow, of course...but it was pretty darn magical. The girls loved it. The castle was gorgeously lit up at night.

The next morning we headed into California Adventure in the morning for the Little Mermaid ride! Bug's Land was hit up as well. The lines were insanely short, we really loved going this time of year-less crowds, plus cooler weather and the Christmas atmosphere? Sold. Sadie really loved going on her rides, it was adorable. She even went on the Matterhorn! (she did tell me it was "a little cweepy Mom")

Janae took the girls back to the hotel for some R&R, and Rory and I set out to do all the "big kid" rides in Disneyland-ie, Space Mountain, Star Tours, Matterhorn, Indiana Jones, etc. After we did all that (in like an hour) we pigged out on churros and chocolate and settled down to rest our feet. Then I spotted a celebrity! Curtis Stone, the chef. He walked right past us while we were sitting in front of the castle. Then we spotted him again while he was getting coffee, and we totally sneakily took pictures of him on Rory's cell phone. Yes, I am aware we are gigantic stalkerish nerds. (and no, the pictures didn't turn out...frowny face) It was exciting...my first celebrity sighting!

That night we went to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner (which Charlotte loved! All the animals. :)...then headed back into the park for some more snow-we were addicted! The girls did really good at night, sleeping. We went to bed right when they did, which meant more sleep! yesss.

On Thursday we hit up both parks again, basically catching any rides Janae wanted to go on, and hitting up Sadie's favorites. The teacups were top of the list-she would scream "Faster Daddy FASTER!" whenever she went on them. They would get going pretty fast...Charlotte and I had to start taking another tea cup! Too fast for us. I took the girls on the Pooh Bear ride while Rory and Janae went on the Haunted Mansion, then we met at the little bakery by the Pooh ride and got some goodies! yummm. I got a caramel and chocolate covered pretzel stick. I just love those darn Disneyland goodies.
That night, of course we hit up the snow...and the Matterhorn while the fireworks went off-that was fun! The next morning we went into the park for a few hours for a few more rides, then went to Cafe Rio for lunch before starting the drive home.

It was a fabulous trip! (Besides Sadie asking Why? or What are you doing? every 2 minutes driving home)
